Cinnamon is one of the world’s oldest known spices that have been used for centuries. In medieval times it was regarded as more valuable than gold and was one of the very first products to be traded between Europe and the near East.

Cinnamon health benefits were widely accepted and used in medicine and remedies, as well as in cooking. With the development of man-made drugs in recent times, spices like cinnamon have become less popular. We now rely on the rich drug companies that produce more and more pills that do the same job as these spices and herbs did so effectively in years gone by.

But times are changing and as a society we are starting to re-explore the natural health benefits that spices like cinnamon can provide and how to harness it more effectively. Cinnamon can help promote weight loss by increasing the body’s metabolism rate which in turn burns up more calories.

It can even be used as a face pack on the skin to draw out impurities and clear up pimples and blackheads.

Cinnamon is also rich in antioxidants, which is responsible for our overall health and well-being. In fact just 1 teaspoon of cinnamon contains as much antioxidants as a half cup of blueberries and a glass of pomegranate.

These are just some of the health benefits of cinnamon that can be easily incorporated into your diet and without any side effects or allergic reactions.
